How to use prefix and suffix in English | Defination and Examples

 Prefix and suffix

Words that are not derived, compounded or developed from other words are called primary words.

Secondary words are formed by the addition of words/letters/part of a word wither at the beginning or the end of primary word.

A prefix is defined as a word or a part of a word which is placed at the beginning of the primary word to form a new word.

E.g
1.corruption-anticorruption
2.agree-disagree
3.action-interaction

A suffix is defined as a word or a part of a word which is placed at the end of a primary word to form a new word.

E.g
1.consider-consideration
2.faith-faithful
3.bank-banking
